For today’s Make a Difference Monday, Chris takes to the streets of Boston for the 15th Annual Bocce Tournament for Taste of the North End Charities that took place earlier this month. Fourteen years ago, the Taste of the North End began a new tradition on Boston’s Historic Waterfront – an annual Bocce tournament to raise funds for scholarships and the North End Community. This year’s event was especially important to Chris, who organizes the event, as they chose to honor his cousin, Sal Balsamo, a lifelong philanthropist who made a difference every day of his life.
Each year, generations of players come together for the greater good of the North End including local businesses who have taken time out of their busy schedules to support year after year. All proceeds are making a difference for North End organizations including but not limited to North End Against Drugs, North End Music for the Arts, and the North End Athletic Association. The annual event has raised over $100,000 over the past 15 years.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event! You are all making a difference in the local community.
